state, applying for a federal tax ID (EIN) is one of the first things you must
do. Generally, you cannot even open a bank account on behalf of the LLC unless the
LLC has obtained a federal tax ID (EIN) . This is also one of the formalities
that may be required to "separate" the LLC from you, the owners
(called members), in order to

Registered Agent - Annual Fee (Most people don't need
this). The registered agent is a person (or a
corporation authorized by the respective state to act as
registered agent) appointed by you
and required by law to receive legal papers from the state or third parties on
behalf of your LLC. The address of the registered agent must be in the state where you
organize/file your LLC. Most people would name a member (owner) or manager of the
LLC as registered agent, and would list the LLC's business address
as the registered agent's address. That's it.

the state where you live or where your business address will be, and you do not
